Hello League,

Well It’s Finally Here and you all know what that Means !!
Yes, May has arrived and once again it’s time again to Celebrate
Yogi Berra’s Birthday coming up on May 12th !

Let’s all celebrate the 12 Days of Yogi with these Fun Facts and Stats !!

12. Did you know that Yogi Berra caught 3 No Hitters for the Yankees. But Yogi doesn’t hold the record for most no hitters caught. That record belongs to Ray Schalk who caught 4.
11. Berra is the only catcher that has caught two no-hitters tossed by the same pitcher in a single season.
10. Yogi remains the only backstop to call a perfect game in the World Series in MLB History for Don Larson’s Gem
on Oct 5th 1956 in Game 5 of that series.
9. Yogi was named the AL’s Most Valuable Player, an honour seldom bestowed on catchers, three times (1951, 1954, and 1955)
8. Yogi also hit 12 World Series home runs
7. Yogi played in a record 14 World Series (1947, 1949–53, 1955–58, and 1960–63), winning an unprecedented 10. A record that may well never be broken.
6. Berra homered in his first major league at-bat
5. Before agreeing to a deal with the Yankees, Berra had a tryout with the St. Louis Cardinals (his hometown)
4. He never made more than $65,000 in a season
3. Yogi got his nickname from childhood friend Jack Maguire, who also went on to play in the big leagues. After seeing a movie with a yogi in it, Maguire started calling Berra — whose birth name is Lawrence — “Yogi.” The name stuck
2. He was in the U.S. Navy, and served on a gunboat during the Normandy landings (D-Day) on June 6, 1944
1. Berra played in more World Series games than any player in major league history (another record that also may never be broken)

Hope everyone enjoyed a little bit of my all time favorite Player.
Yogi Berra!

And Oh Yeah !!
Our league gets underway tonight with the AA Div, with some exhibition games at Triwood and more exhibition games
Tues, Wed and Thur, all at Triwood.
Our A Div has exhibition games starting tomorrow morning as well and also on Wed and Thur morning, all at Triwood.
Our AAA Div’s regular season gets started tomorrow at CW 1 with games Wed and Thur, all at CW 1.
Our Mon Rec League gets rolling on Mon May 15th with their first regular season games.
So Softball is definitely in the Forecast !!

I hope everyone has a great Season and remember what Yogi Said,
“Ninety percent of the game is half mental.”

Cheers Everyone,
Paul M

Hi Everyone,

FYI this message is only for New Players and Returning Back to the League Players and All Division Coaches and Managers.
All others can disregard this message.

New Player and Played Before Player Evaluations have now been confirmed and will take place as originally scheduled on Saturday April 22nd 11am until 3 pm and will now only be held on that day. No Evaluations are scheduled for Sunday April 23rd.
We have a smaller group this year so one day will be enough.
The other major difference is we are moving the Evaluations Indoors this year so that weather will not cause us an issue.
We will be holding Evaluations at Webber Academy Athletic Park
Click Link Below for Directions.
