Day Ball is HERE!
Good Morning, League Members!
I’m pleased to be able to announce an historic step forward in the growth of our League. In our 40th year, CSMS League Day Ball is now ‘A Thing,’ (as the kids say these days).
Last night the first 60 Day Ball men were drafted to five NEW Day Ball teams. Those teams and their managers are:
- Brew Jays (Don McKillop and Brian Caouette)
- The Lords of Darkness (Gary Paukert and Dave Finn)
- Men of the Shale (Len Seib and Brad Campbell)
- Rebels (Rudy Mayer)
- Variants (Ed Thurmeier)
Games will be played on Mondays and Fridays starting July 5th at the Charleswood 1 and 2 diamonds. Game times are 10:00am, 11:30am and 1:00pm. Players who were drafted should have received a notice from TeamPages by now, and will likely also hear directly from your coach/manager.
Rosters can already be viewed on the TeamPages website. Schedules will be uploaded shortly.
We wish all the participants in the inaugural season of CSMS League Day Ball a fun and safe summer season.
Cheers,
Gary Paukert

Lost Bat Follow-up
Guys, following up on the lost bat Monday night. A fairly worn Miken Freak bat was found at Charleswood 2 on Monday night after the evaluation session. This is NOT the DiMarini bat that was reported lost.
Incredibly sleuthful deduction: Whoever lost the Miken Freak picked up the DiMarini by mistake and has it in his bag.
So guys, have a look in your bat bags. Someone has a bat that is not theirs.
Contact Ed Thurmeier at etcalhom1@gmail.com
Thanks
Gary
Missing Bat
Evaluation Session Participants and Spectators:
A bat went missing after the first session of the evaluations tonight at Charleswood 2. It is an older DiMarini end-loaded bat with most of the paint worn off. There is no name on the bat.
Brian Cooper was using it to hit and after the session could not find it. It is likely that someone picked it up by mistake and put it in their bag since it didn’t turn up after a search.
Could you please check your bat bags and if you find it, contact Brian at: cooperbrian@shaw.ca or 403-236-7029.
Please make the effort to look for this bat in your belongings as losing a bat is not a great introduction for a new player to our league!
Cheers,
Gary Paukert
