We have received an important message from Stephan Horbay with Triwood Community Association.
Please see Stephan’s message below.

“Hi all, this is a pretty major update, so please be sure to read through!
We have had some unfortunate events happen over the past couple of weeks. We were declined our summer jobs funding, and the pub had a break-in over the weekend. It is budget time, and we have been under some pressure following a couple of down years with COVID. This has forced us to re-evaluate our approach to keeping the pub open.

Unfortunately we have decided on some immediate changes. Effective today, JT’s will be open for food service on Wednesdays only. We will not have a full menu, and will offer a special on those nights (currently burgers and fries). On Wednesdays, the pub will be open for full service from 5pm – 9pm (and drinks will be available until close at 10 or 11pm).

Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays, we will be able to open the pub for drinks and a small snack menu only from 8pm to close. The pub will essentially be opened for the ball teams especially (if the start times need to be modified slightly due to game schedules, please let me know). The teams are welcome to order/bring other food into the pub if they choose to.

So as per Stephan’s message, starting today until further notice, JT’s will be following this new schedule,

Mondays – 8PM until close. Snack foods only (basically only opening for the Ball Teams)
Tuesdays – 8PM until close. Snack foods only (basically only opening for the Ball Teams)
Wednesday’s – 5PM until close. Limited Food Service available from 5PM til 9PM, may
offer a special like burger and fries. Bar open until regular closing.
Thursdays – 8PM until close. Snack foods only (basically only opening for the Ball Teams)

And as per Stephan, Teams may bring in outside food. Perhaps order in Pizza !!
Closed Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

And let’s all keep trying to support our good friends at Triwood !!
And it would be extremely helpful to JT’s Lounge if we can keep them in the Loop on game Cancellations or additional games being added.

Hello Everyone,

Please read the following important Update from our President, Gary Paukert.

“Hello League,
On May 18th in a game between the Division A Dodgers and A’s, the A’s allowed a player to participate who was not a registered league member and who had not been properly evaluated so as to know his draft line.

A grievance was filed and the Grievance Committee has ruled in favour of the Dodgers, although the Committee recognized some mitigating circumstance and good intentions. The A’s win will be stricken from the record and the Dodgers will be awarded a 7-0 forfeit win instead.

The League wants to take this opportunity to remind coaches that rules cannot be arbitrarily suspended, even by mutual consent of coaches. The League also recognizes that there are issues surrounding our treatment of late registrants, replacement players, injured players and etc. which we hope to address over the off season with the goal of revisiting the current rules and creating as many playing opportunities as possible while still maintaining fair competition between teams.

I have been contacted by Kelly Toombs and he has asked me to reach out to our League Membership to help search for more players for the Team he is entering in the Calgary Tournament on July 23/24.

Currently Kelly has about 6 confirmed players but he still needs 6-7 more guys to round out his roster.
