Hi Everyone,

Well the Final week of League Play Off Action is upon us.

3 sets of Playoff Games get underway starting tonight, Sept 6th.

At Charleswood 1, the AAA Mariners vs the Red Sox get underway in their Divisions Gold/Silver Medal Games. In a Best of 3, they will play 2 games tonight with a possibility of a Tie Breaker Tomorrow night, also at Charleswood 1.

Over at Triwood, the AA Cardinals vs Rockies get started in Game 1 of their Best of 3 in their quest for the Gold. Game 2 will go tomorrow night, also at Triwood, and if necessary, a Game 3 Tie Breaker on Thursday night at Triwood.

In the AA Bronze Medal match up. The Nationals and the Mets play Game 1 tonight at Charleswood 2. Game 2 will be played tomorrow night, also at CW 2. And if necessary, a Game 3 Tie Breaker on Thursday night, also at CW 2.

And wrapping up the week. On Thursday night, at Charleswood 1, the Rock Hounds vs The Twins in a Best of 1,
1 and Done bronze Medal Game.

It should be a great week of Softball Action. I hope everyone can get out to watch one or more of these Playoff Matchups and support the Teams.

Should be an exciting finish to the 2022 Season !!

Good Luck Everyone,

Hi Everyone,

A pair of Ball Cleats were found by one of our Ground Crew, Mike Fitzsimmons.
They are size 9-1/2 and must have been left over the weekend.
Mike has placed them inside the Storage Box at the Triwood Diamond. So if you are missing your cleats thats where they are.

You can also send a message to me and I can help you get them.

Cheers Everyone,
Paul M

Hey Everyone,

I recently found out an interesting bit of info on one of our League Members, Dave Finn.

I’m sure most of us are already aware that Dave is also a current Board member with our CSMS 55+ League and that Dave manages one of the AAA Division Teams.
And I’m sure everyone knows of Dave’s umpiring background as well and how many of our League games Dave umpires during the season.

Dave is also the President of the Alberta 55 Plus and also volunteers as a Girls Basketball Coach in his “spare” time.
Dave is also the current Alberta Director for the CSGA (Canada Senior Games Association )

Dave was recently at the CSGA games (Canada Senior Games Association) in Kamloops BC that was attended by close to 3000 participants.

As part of being the Alberta Director for CSGA, Dave attended three days of meetings before the games even started. At these series of meetings, there was a planned election for the soon to be vacant Vice President and President positions.

Dave was nominated and was elected as the new VP of the CSGA. That gives Alberta a voice on the CSGA Board of Directors. Which is great news.

Mr Finn is now President of Alberta55 plus, the Alberta Director for CSGA, and is now the VP of the CSGA.
(as well as his other many volunteering duties)

All I can is is WOW !!

I’m not sure how you do it Sir !! But it is my Honour to Offer you a Huge Congratulations on Behalf of the Entire CSMS 55+ Family !!
Hey Everyone, the next time you see Dave, lets all be sure to say Thank you to Dave for all he does for our League and for all of the Seniors he represents across Alberta!!

Cheers Dave

Hello League,

Although the season is fast coming to an end.
This is a reminder to all players to not leave any valuables in their vehicles when they are parked in the school parking lot at Charleswood 2 diamond.

In a recent playoff game between the Rockies and the National, five league members vehicles were broken into and items were missing from those vehicles.

Damage occurred to several of those vehicles including broken windows.

Thanks everyone for your attention to this important issue.
