Hi Everyone,

Here is the current registration list for you to check out.
(Updated a few moments ago)
Click on the attached List at the bottom of this message.

There are currently 190 registered players,
including 22 new or returning back to the league players.
(16 new to the League Players and 6 Returning back to the league after an absence Players)

What we don’t know is, has everyone also registered with Alberta 55Plus. This registration is mandatory to play in our league, so be sure to follow that up and get signed up with AB 55+. Cost is $40 this year.
Click the Link below and you will be directed to the AB 55+ membership sign up page.
https://members.alberta55plus.ca/Membership

And just because your name shows up on our List does not mean you are done with registration.
Many have registered “offline” meaning checks still have to be mailed in.
So please do that as soon as you can.

Checks for our league can be mailed to,
Calgary Senior Men’s Slo-Pitch League 55+
PO Box 45011, Brentwood P.O.
Calgary, AB T2L 1Y4

And to all the Procrastinators out there… Lets get signed up Today. Please don’t wait until the last minute.
Our Registrar has lots to do and we don’t want him confirming and having to enter in the data for 100 or more guys the last couple nights before registration ends.

Thanks Everyone,
Paul M

Instead of a Quote, How about a bit of Trivia,
“March 5th, 1998 – Current Blue Jays Shortstop Bo Bichette was Born”
“March 5, 1922 — New York Yankees star Babe Ruth becomes the highest-paid player in history when he signs a three-year contract that will pay him over $50,000 per season. In 1921, Ruth led the American League with 59 home runs and 171 RBI.
“March 5 , 1994 — Astros owner and HSA president Drayton McLane slams the idea of a new downtown domed stadium, claiming the Astrodome can be refurbished for half the cost. McLane also complains that the $33 millon dollar estimated payroll for the Astros for 1994 is too high” ( what would they say about Today’s MLB Payrolls )

Hi Everyone,

We are getting questions from people wanting to know if they are registered.
If you paid online then you should have received a receipt so there should be no questions.
For those that paid offline (mailing in a check) then a receipt is not provided at the time of Registration.

So I have attached a Link here, that everyone can click on to view the current registration list.
This attached list is names only, no other personal info is attached. And it is in alphabetical order.

I will try and update the list after another 30-50 people get registered.

Click on attachment below.

Hi League,

Just wanted to keep everyone in the loop regarding our registration status.

As of a few moments ago, we now have
162 Registered Players, (Larry W, I’m only counting you once, even though you signed up twice)
including
15 New to the league players,
5 returning back to the league after an absence of more than 1 season players.

And Hey you guys still left to register be sure to check the spelling of your names and emails !!
The registrar has to work extra hard correcting those mistakes !
So Owen Melenka and Paul McNeil (wait that’s me) smarten up you guys!!
( I guess I was in a hurry, and it was probably after my bedtime)

Cheers Everyone,
Paul McNeil ( see that looks right)

Hi Everyone,

When everyone is registering, after clicking on the Click Here to Register line, we are all seeing a little pop window
that has a message about an embedded page.
Just ignore that and click OK. And you move on to the registration as normal.

Nothing to be alarmed about. No little gremlins or widgets will be unleashed into your computer.

Cheers Everyone,
Paul M

"AA" Manager Search Continues

Hi Everyone,

Our Search for a new Manager in our AA Division is still ongoing.

We need someone to step up and volunteer for this open position, as time will start becoming a factor in the very near Future.

As I’m sure everyone knows, this league pretty much runs on help from our Volunteers, from your League Board Members, all the different Committee Chairs and the committee members, and all of our awesome Coach’s and Manager’s.
So this might be your time to help the League by deciding to Manage one of our Teams.

Please send me a message or just respond to this message and I will pass your info along to our AA Division Rep, Bruce Hall and to our Evaluation and Draft Chair, Wayne Nelson.

Come on Guys, lets put this outstanding issue to Bed !!
And who knows, maybe your first year as a Team Manager, your team wins the Pennant and the Championship
and you get carried off the field by all your happy players (or dragged off the field if you lose by all your angry players, but thats only ever happened once………well maybe Twice) But Hey, what a Great Experience that would be either way !!

Cheers Everyone,
Paul M
