News and Announcements

Hello everyone,

Last week’s practices were well attended and we had good weather. There was great energy and I know it felt wonderful to get out and play and see your buds after a long winter. There were a few glitches which we’ll try to fix this week.

The practice schedule is:

1. Wednesday, April 28, 11:00am
2. Thursday, April 29, 5:30pm

We will use the grassy area just east of Charleswood 1&2 diamonds as a 5th diamond. *There will be a STRICT LIMIT of 10 people on each diamond in order to conform with AHS guidelines. Do NOT exceed 10 players. *

The first 50 players (per practice) who email me at gary.paukert@Gmail.com by Monday at 10:00pm will be able to practice. Please do NOT show up, even as a spectator, if you have not registered with me. Also. we need more pitchers, especially at Triwood, so please indicate you are a pitcher when you reply by email.

Tuesday night I will post an email like this one through the website telling you what diamond you are assigned to.

See you all next week, so far the weather looks good!

Reserving a Diamond in 2021

Posted by Gary Paukert at Apr 23, 2021 1:28PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Hello gents,

Apart from the practices that the CSMS League is arranging, you may wish to arrange a practice with a group of friends or a tournament team.

The Charleswood and Triwood diamonds are available to you for this, but in order to avoid conflicts, please reserve the diamond for your practice. Of course you must adhere to the AHS guidelines at the time, which currently restrict attendance to 10 or fewer players.

The man in charge of diamond reservations and scheduling is our illustrious A.J. Boyd. You can email him at aj.boyd@telus.net or call him at 403-202-2145 and he’ll make sure you don’t show up and find the diamond occupied.

Cheers,

Found Bat & Lost Balls

Posted by Gary Paukert at Apr 21, 2021 4:17PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Good practices this week, gents! Great to get out in the sunshine and see those we’ve missed all winter. So far no complaints from the neighbours about too much screaming as we all pulled and tore muscles we haven’t used all winter.

Phil MacDonald found a nice 27oz. Miken MV1 bat on one of the Triwood diamonds after this afternoon’s practice. He says the owner can have it back in exchange for a case of beer. Contact either Phil or me.

Also, I came home with about a bucket-load fewer of the Trump Stote Team1Sports softballs than I started out with. They are marked ‘GRIZ.’ I’d appreciate it if anyone runs across any of them, if you’d save them up for me.

Look for an email on future practice coming to an email box near you this weekend.

Get out the snow shovels!

The forecast for Thursday is for a high of -1degC and snow.

Therefore the Thursday 5:30pm CSMS League practice has been moved to TUESDAY (tomorrow) at 5:30pm. Please email Gary.Paukert@GMail.com IF AND ONLY IF this changes your attendance plans. There are still a few open spots left for this practice.

Meet a few minutes before 5:30 Tuesday at the Charleswood 1 diamond. Find me and I’ll send you to your assigned diamond.

The Wednesday 11:00am CSMS League practice remains unchanged. This practice is now full.

Practices next week will continue on the original Wed/Thur schedule, weather permitting.

Regards,

Gary Paukert

Correction: Practices Start NEXT WEEK

Posted by Gary Paukert at Apr 17, 2021 7:48AM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Those of you who can actually read a calendar probably figured this out, but CSMS League practices start next week, NOT the week of April 28/29. Therefore, they will be held:

Wednesday, April 21st (11:00-1:00) and Thursday, April 22nd (5:30-7:30), weather permitting.
Show up at Charleswood 1 and we’ll form groups of 10 and disperse to the various diamonds.

If this makes a difference in your availability, please contact me at Gary.Paukert@GMail.com to change.

The CSMS Communications Department apologizes would like to assure you that those responsible for this error have been sacked.

Most regretfully,
