News and Announcements

Hello League Members,

Damien Skelling of the AA Division lost his wife last year and would like to pass on the following thoughts to his friends in the league:

_"Our family has faced a difficult loss this year. In Cleo, we lost a loving spouse, mother, sister, daughter, and friend. Part of that loss is being able to gather friends and family together to celebrate the beautiful and wonderful life that she lead and to remember all of the excellent memories. It weighs heavily on us that we have not been able to hold a memorial service. _

_As we reflected during this Thanksgiving weekend, as I am sure many of you did, the now not-so-simple ability to gather together has become such a reminder of how critical those personal connections are. Holding a proper memorial service is important to us, and by proper we mean that we will be able to gather together, give each other hugs, share some food, and enjoy the opportunity to reconnect.

We thank you for your patience and understanding as we watch for the right time to safely hold the service. Thank you for all of your kind words and caring thoughts these last few months. The tough days are lightened by the loving friends and family around us. -Damien"_

Hi Again, Everyone:

Ron Williams informs us that our annual casino days are Friday/Saturday, September 25/26 and as of this date the AGLC says it is a ‘go.’

The venue is Cash Casino at 4040 Blackfoot Trail S.E., the same as last year.

Many Board and other members have stepped up to man the volunteer positions, which are all now filled. A big THANK YOU to those volunteering their time!

Best regards,

You're Gonna LOVE This!

Hi Guys,

You saw Paul McNeil hanging around the AAA ‘games’ with his camera a couple weeks ago, right?

Sorry to disappoint you, but he wasn’t scouting for the White Sox. But he’s taken hundreds and hundreds of great photos and you can not only see them, but you can download them to your heart’s content at the following web addresses:

Some of them even hide the fact that you’re an aging wanna-be athlete!!

But here’s the best part. Paul has created a photo montage brilliantly accompanied by John Fogerty’s song ‘Put Me In Coach,’ and Alabama’s ’Cheap Seats":

You’ll want to save the link to play for inspiration and motivation to work out in the depths of winter (two weeks from now, probably). Now don’t you wish you’d shaved and tucked in your shirt for these games?

Big shout-out to Paul for great work and a great contribution to our league members.

I can BE centre-field!

- Gary
